Conditions look very good for viewing the Moon tonight.

Moon was too low on the horizon and low cloud cover blocked the view here in dublin. Real shame cos she's just appeared and she's effin huge tonight.

Was very visible in Louth past 9.20pm until about 9.50 I would say

Best of a bunch I took with a Sigma 300mm Lens:

Had a stab at filming it. Pink & orange hues. The peak of the partial eclipse wasn't visible due to cloud along the horizon.

Great capture! You should fix that aspect ratio though on Youtube

Think its the format the camera records with. Seems to happen on my other channels too. No idea how to fix it.

There is a programme (free) which can change the picture ratio I'll see if I can find it. (have a copy myself)

found it - Its pretty good.

What program do you use Squod for the video? Straight from camera to Utube?

Format factory. Either that or youtube editor.

Lots of unusable footage due to camera shaking in the wind.

Here is the footage (save as then remove the .pdf on the filename) with proper aspect ratio (16:9) - You basically have it in 4:3 which result in the squash effect. I used VirtualDub Resize filter to fix this but quality suffers a little as its recompressed (Xvid HD)

Promise I'll fix it for next year. The raw files have gone for good. Don't fancy d/loading it from youtube and re-formatting it.

Didn't realise how it looks in real life. All the screens here are square like. The video camera screen isn't much good either. I'd often wondered how my youtube clips appear on widescreen screens. Guess I know now!
