Not unconfident, yet stutter

I don't always stutter, but when I do it goes on and on! :o When it does happen, it's very extreme and have to stop talking for a second to get past one syllable after a while. Sometimes it happens in very short bursts so it sounds like I'm slurring too. However, I don't think this is a confidence issue or a comfort thing as it's usually with people I'm most comfortable with: my girlfriend and closer friends. Just wondering is it unusual for this to happen when you are confident enough and comfortable with stutterers? It hasn't been there my whole life and isn't even that common with me, just sort of curious!

    Thanks! :)
