Commercial Bord Gáis electricity

I had a Bord Gais electricity business account, but moved out 5 months ago.

Bord Gais gave me a form for the landlord to sign to put the account back in his name.

Despite my frequent requests for him to do so, the account is still in my name.

The property is vacant but they must have the heating on or something because Bord Gais informs me I have €600 outstanding. The bill shows this is for the period since I moved out.

Bord Gais says my only option is to disconnect the supply. I would do so without a doubt but on top of the €150 disconnection fee I am also liable for the €600 outstanding.

I don't understand how their procedures can allow for this.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or does anyone have any advice?

    Much appreciated!!
