    Main Event?
JBL is in the ring and introduces Mark Henry, who slowly makes his way to the ring. Henry talked about his rivalry with Sheamus. JBL talks Henry into accepting a 4 on 1 gauntlet match, saying that he's the only person who could do it. That match is up first.

    * Mark Henry quickly defeated one of the Usos, before pinning the other. There were "Sexual Chocolate" chants from the crowd. He then pinned Santino Marella with the WSS, and The Great Khali is out next, accompanied by Natalya and Hornswoggle. The crowd is chanting for Khali. At one point, Henry hit the WSS, but Khali kicked out at 2. Khali gained the upper hand with a chop, and Henry rolled out of the ring and walked away to get counted out. The Great Khali wins the Gauntlet match.

A video recap is shown of the Triple H - Paul Heyman angle on RAW.

    * Matt Striker brings out Zeb Coulter for an interview at the top of the ramp, who is met with loud boos. Jack Swagger comes out and chants, "We the people" to a lot of heat. That ended it for this week's episode.

    SMS

    * Santino Marella made his way down to the ring on a Boris bike. He defeated Jinder Mahal with the Cobra. Alicia Fox was on commentary for this match. After the match, Santino rode his bike backstage.

    * Randy Orton and Sheamus defeated The Prime Time Players. Orton hit the RKO to get the win for his team.

    Smackdown

A video recap is shown of The Undertaker / Team Hell No vs. The Shield match from last night's RAW.

    * Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio in a No DQ match is up first. Ricardo Rodriguez got a good pop announcing Del Rio, and the crowd chanted along with him. The crowd was chanting "Si Si!" There were also "Ole Ole" and "We Want Tables" chants throughout. The match saw kendo sticks, chairs and ladders used. Swagger defeated Del Rio in an excellent 12-minute match with the gutwrench powerbomb after hitting him with a ladder.

Sheamus vs. The Big Show and Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry are announced for tonight.

    * Layla defeated Aksana.

The Shield is on the screen from backstage, they are gloating about winning yesterday. Dean Ambrose claims he is going to beat the Undertaker.

They are lowering fandango entrance, and the crowd erupts and starts Fandangoing when his music hits.

*Fandango b. Justin Gabriel. More Fandangoing in the O2 Arena. Summer Rae is still the Fandangirl despite dancing with Jericho on RAW. Fandango does some Fandangoing on the top rope before dropping the leg on Gabriel for the win.

*The Big Show b. Sheamus. Sheamus tries to lift Big Show, but Show falls on top of him for a two count. Show hits a splash off the middle rope, but Sheamus kicks out at two. Show sends Sheamus head first into the ring steps, but Sheamus manages to beat the referee's count to get back into the ring. Show throws Sheamus into the ring post, and the fans are angry at Show, then turn on the match, calling it boring. Sheamus gets the fans somewhat back into it with his comeback, but now the fans are doing chants about Luis Suarez. Sheamus calls for the Brogue Kick, but Big Show slides out of the ring. Mark Henry comes out through the crowd, distracting Sheamus, allowing Big Show to hit him with the WMD for the win.

    *Wade Barrett b. William Regal

*Mark Henry b. Randy Orton via DQ. Orton hits his IEDDT, and is about to go for the RKO, but Henry fights it off. Sheamus runs in and hits the Brogue Kick on Henry to draw the DQ. Orton hits Henry with the RKO after the match.

*Matt Striker interviews Booker T backstage. He's interrupted by several wrestlers.

*The Undertaker b. Dean Ambrose. Reigns and Rollins are at ringside. After an epic battle, Taker hits a chokeslam on Ambrose, and then taps him with Hell's Gate. Reigns and Rollins attack Taker after the match, and Reigns spears Taker through the ringside barrier to a great reaction. The Shield then give Undertaker the Triple Powerbomb through the announce table to end the show.

Main event is a change, huh?

You posted the results twice in that post :P

Anyway, will definitly want to watch Taker vs Ambrose. That's a crazy match for a Smackdown main event  Hope they gave it time and let Ambrose get some offence in.

Just home from this - pretty ok show up until the main event which was really good. The Shield are absolute stars.

After Smackdown went off the air we had the Shield standing over takers body by the broken announce table and out come the New Age Outlaws followed after by Triple H who came down, cleaned house and carried the Undertaker to the back all of which got a huge pop from the crowd

Way to go with spoiling the show with the thread title, Trevor!

No way Taker takes a bump through an announce table for a dark match...no way at all.

I hope not myself but I am just calling it like I see it, most sites have said it was indeed a dark match.

We will have to wait until Friday, if it was a dark match then what a waste.

"but now the fans are doing chants about Luis Suarez" ... what were those chants? ;) Seamus had a busy night.

    PWInsider's spoilers:
Undertaker beat Dean Ambrose by submission with the gogoplata in the main event. After the match Reigns and Rollins stormed the ring and beat down Taker. He tried to fight back with a chair but Reigns speared him through the barricade. Then they did a triple powerbomb through the table.

There were very long closing shots of The Shield standing tall and Taker destroyed. I assume that's the ending of the televised show, it felt like it.

A minute or so later, the Outlaws music hit and they came out. Then HHH. DX disposed of The Shield and Ambrose ate a Fameasser and a Pedigree.

Fiercely overbooked for the first part not to be on TV.

Also, Reigns speared taker through the barricade just before they put him through the table. I wouldn't think they'd put him through two big spots like that and not televise it

He must have took the "house show" spear bump through the barricade too! :P

Come to think of it, The Shield cut a video promo hyping the match and they had the match graphic up on screen several times during the show hyping it

I don't know why these reports point towards a dark match

Why is there a MAJOR spoiler in the thread title? Change it plz OP

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,116 ✭✭✭starviewadams

What will they do with The Shield next though?running out of credible face opponents for 6 man tags at this stage

Already been through all of the main faces on the roster, bar HHH.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,522 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

More singles matches and standard tags for the Shield i'd say.

Epic way for Ambrose to have his first singles match on tv. Taker must be a big fan of them. Imagine a match v Ambrose at mania, it would throw up the idea he might actually lose for the first time in years! Thats going a bit far for now though.

I really wish I didn't click on this thread now, I was expecting something mundane from Smackdown, it would have been great to watch on Friday spoiler free.

Really hope it was a dark match.

Why have the Shield take their first loss on Smackdown?

I'm sure Cena will take all 3 on at once and demolish them at some point.

Thats a cool main event for Smackdown, huge rub for Ambrose considering Taker only wrestles once a year these days.

It's only a singles loss so they'll probably keep going saying that as a team they're undefeated. But in fairness... The Undertaker. If you could pick anyone on the entire roster to have your first loss to surely it'd be him. The guy's on a different level to anyone else in the company. By all accounts he pretty much hand picks everyone he steps into the ring with. That's a crazy rub to give Ambrose.
And it possibly sounds they might have given him the post-match beatdown that keeps him off TV for quite a while after the match.

And I'd say the smackdown thing is because it's crying out for some star power these days and traditionally Undertaker has been a Smackdown wrestler.

I don't see how saying Taker vs Ambrose took place was a spoiler; personally, if I'm WWE, I start advertising the **** out of that online, knowing that's a dream match for many, many people...

Great that William Regal got the two matches on tv this week

Barrett v Regal sounds like a nice treat for the UK fans. I wonder how they'll edit the crowd noise for that though

It was a very very quick squash for Barrett

Shame really, I would have thought they could put on a good match given time.

Conversely, Big Show Vs Sheamus dragged on for ages :(

Edit: In terms of crowd reactions, both got big pops but Barrett cut a promo while walking to the ring basically trashing Regal which quickly got the crowd booing him

They have lost some dark matches by DQ, I wouldn't count them as losses really!

Neither would I; Shield are still undefeated, but thats not the point of their characters. They are pack dogs, dismantling what they want. Amazing how powerful they are in the shows at the moment. Fair play.

Vince is supposed to think that William Regal is pretty much the worst in-ring performer ever though, isn't he?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,622 ✭✭✭Ruu

Poor Sheamo having a hard time, seems a bit lost, on telly an awful lot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,132 ✭✭✭Andy_rse

Why not just have The Shield run in just before he taps? That way you don't have the slight blotch on their record.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

The idea is that The Shield are unbeatable as a unit, Ambrose taking a loss (to The Undertaker no less) will do them no harm (so long as they don't make a habit out of it of course).

Losing to the guy who's gimmick these days is he's practically unbeatable won't hurt Ambrose. In fact just being in there with Taker and having a longish match with him elevates him more than 6 months of beating mid card guys would.

Really? He's had some really good matches over the years, stiff as hell.

Exactly, and they already have a win as a team over Taker/Team Hell No, granted it was Bryan that took the loss which was expected but they're being booked really strong. I think now Punk is gone they're the best reason to watch Raw. Rollins can bump like a champ as well.

Not sure about Vince but i am pretty sure Regal and HHH are close friends.

To be honest, I reckon that the people who usually worry about win/loss records are the same people who, in general, will wet their pants in anticipation of Taker vs Ambrose....

Enjoying this Smackdown so far. Some nice spots in the Del Rio / Swagger match and the crowd seem into Sheamus / Big Show. Really wonder where Fandango is gonna go from here though.

Shocked the Shield were even allowed triple power bomb taker let alone do it through the announce table.
Kudos to taker for putting them over like that.
Just shows the stock WWE are putting in them fingers crossed they don't ruin it with something silly.

Probably under the radar with the great end but Swagger and Del Rio was very good.

Even though he had a bad moment before mania but his win over the WHC, then beating Del Rio and his continued association with Zeb has him looking really good again.
