I need to get my Kitchen, Hallway(incl upstairs) and one of the downstairs bedrooms painted. Walls and ceiling.

Its a 2 storey house. with an average sized kitchen and double bedroom.

What should I ask the painter for? Will I have to supply paint and other stuff for him? roughly how long would you expect that it would take a professional painter to paint those 3 rooms?

Any info would be great so that I dont sound like a proper noob

    Thanks.

Just ask if he will supply paint or do u need to get it ,
If he supply paint ask what brand,
Roughly 3/4 days work to get it all done depending on the condition of the walls/ceilings.
When u asking for price make sure to ask what exactly is included in price : ceiling, walls, skirting boards, door/ frame, how many coats.
Most painters will recommend what needs doin.
    Good luck

Ask for names of proper tradesmen in paint shop. Get them to call round and give you a price for the job (not a daily rate or they will be there till xmas).
He will give you a list of materials and you can get them in whatever brand you like.
Decorator will supply all sheets, rollers, brushes etc (have heard horror stories of people supplying all this gear only for painter to take all with him).
    3/4 days sounds about right.
    Good luck.
