    Sorry if this is a dumb question but can you change the socket installed originally by eircom,i have a splitter plugged in but it is not tight.

    Check its not a sh1tty splitter, but yes, you can. Its a very simple job to put a new plate/box on the wall.

    Thanks for that the splitter looks ok the socket seems to be well held onto the wall,took out the 1 screw but no budge.

    Pics might help. Chances are the screws you can see only hold the faceplate on, not the whole box.
