Just looking for some advice, I have a blogger.com blog, I own my own domain which I purchased through google, I am just wondering do I need to create a sitemap? I update the blog daily and have well over 500 pages that need to be crawled, 500 seems to be the limit for the free sitemap generators, dont want to waste my money paying for one if I don't need one.

Its 'best practice' to have a sitemap and submit it via webmaster tools.

    edit:

I'm not a blogger fan/user - you can find an auto generated 'sitemap' via your robots.txt file mybloggersite.com/robots.txt

Then look for the line beginning sitempa:

submit that url to webmaster tools.

Ok here are a few steps you have to do. I’ll be frank here: there is a bit of a learning curve, not a steep one, bit you should be moving in that direction any if you are serious about the web.

I think as you are on blogger you are automatically verified in Google webmaster tools

    You need to go here:
http://www.google.ie/webmasters/ and sign in using your blogger credentials

I think (well according to g) it an automatic verification to Google Webmaster Tools

If you site isn’t in there when you have signed in – you need to add a site (top right) and then it’s automatically verified.
The next bit (to save on typing) this is from google
    2. Submitting your Google Site's sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools
    1. On your Webmaster Tools home page, select your site.
    2. In the left sidebar, click Site configuration and then Sitemaps.
    3. Click the Add/Test Sitemap button in the top right.
    4. Enter (see URL Below) into the text box that appears.
    5. Click Submit Sitemap.

Now the “sitemap url” in your case for step 4 is:
    http://www.notjustinside.com/feeds/posts/default?orderby=UPDATED

    That should be that.

I'd learn a bit about webmaster tools!

    +1 to the previuos post.

Except you need to add more than one URL if you have more than 500 posts.

More about the topic, and good adivce about how to generate the URLs here: http://blogging.nitecruzr.net/2012/02/using-robust-sitemap-with-your-blog.html

It's not nearly as hard as you might think - and certainly not something you shoudl be paying someone to do for you.

Hey nice template, just a little criticism. Make your header smaller. Nice blog!
