Hey guys any of ye recommend a good tool set to get? something that contains most of the tools i would need for general car maintenance. as it stands i have a selection of spanners and pipe grips that i have in my tool box as i am an electrician. but i would like to get a separate set for my car work.:D

It's been asked a few times, doing a search like this will let you check older threads.

That said, it all depends on how much you're willing to spend. And what you actually use.
I've built up my set from getting bits and bobs over the years and just kept them in a big (huge) tool box.
Halfords have sets and even Lidl/Aldi do sets occasionally and for the driveway DIYer they work just fine.

Tbh, one of the most useful things I have is a multitool I keep in the glovebox so always handy. Well worth the price.
Leatherman Wave is one of the best.

Thanks i had a look through already and got some good suggestions. i would be looking for tools with a lifetime guarantee . i just taught someone on here might of bought such a set. maybe something like this.http://www.ebay.com/itm/130893137161?item=130893137161&pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&cmd=ViewItem&hash=item1e79d6c509&vxp=mtr
That would be located in a shop around Ireland. as a set like this would last me a lifetime and i have no problem paying the extra bit for good tools as they will get plenty of use.
    Thanks for your help:)

I keep 2 bacho socket sets in the boot, one is a 1/4" & 3/8" (S330) the other a 1/2" (S240) along with a few lidl spanners a lidl screwdiver set and a good pair of mole grips I have most angles covered and for most jobs rarely need to get any tools out of the workshop. If I was buying again for a tool set to keep in the car I'd think hard about this set bahco set http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bahco-Socket-106-Piece-2-Inch-Drive/dp/B000Y8OFI6 might also have everything you need with your electricians tools filling any gaps.
