Maps

I have a neighbour who has offered me a few acres of land to rent. We can claim area aid on this and he will accept this as payment - to be honest he offered it for nothing as he often borrows tractors, log splitters etc.

The only problem is that nobody ever claimed a DA or a SFP on the land and there are no digital maps for it. If I wanted to put this under our claim, where would I get a map for it? Does it have to be a digital map similar to the ones sent to us by the Dep Of Ag with our application forms? He has a land registry map for it - would this work?

Chances are no entitlements attatch to it, so no payments will be available as no historic claim was made, but.... I could be wrong

There are no entitlements with it. I am well aware of that. But I can claim Disadvantaged Area payments on it.

Thanks for that. I'm meeting him this evening. Wanted to know that it can be done before I go to him.

If you go onto the OSI webpage you will be able to get detailed maps of the fields that you can print off (which is probably illegal) you can also get the co-ordinates. print off the map and outline your new land and stick the co-ordinates onto it aswell so it is easy for whoever deals with it in dept to find. This is the way I have always done it and never an issue

Just went onto a website called landdirect.ie. Was able to find piece of land with folio number and all. Did a screen shot of it and will email it to the planner. I hope this will be enough for him to do up a digital map of it. I've already paid him for this year's services so I may as well make him do the work on it :)

Hi reilig, I added a section we'd been renting for years last year but never claimed for cause of the landowner I had spare entitlements and wanted to add it or I would loose them.

I do my SFP on the dept website,
All I did was add it as a new parcel and went into the mapping service and drew the lines myself, it was easy enough an they accepted it no issue.

Bring the folio with you if you have it.

We were claiming wrongly on a parcel of land last year (you'd understand the mistake if you saw the place). Easily sorted out with folio.

landdirect is dead handy for identifying places.
