Stone chip. Drill and Fill or replace?

Have been driving nearly seven years and I went overtaking an artic lorry at the weekend and he made for the hard shoulder and showered me in stone chips, as a result my wndscreen took a peppering and there is one ever so tiny stone chip on the passengers side. If I wait until next winter I know it will get bigger and split across the windscreen making a replacement inevitable, and it is a NCT failure so I have to address the situation now.

I have windscreen cover and am insured with Setanta Insurance through a broker but the insurance is contracted to All Glass.

What are peoples opinions, repair or replace?

    All Glass.

I'll pay for the windscreen replacement myself before they'll ever go near my car again

What happened? One of the reasons I made the thread was my sister had her windscreen replaced by some crowd (can't remember their name) last year and I didn't like the quality of their work and would nearly rather get the repair done to my own windscreen which is perfect except of this mishap over the weekend.

Well they managed to attach the black silicon (?) adhesive gel to my roof lining, break the trim and leave bits of glass all over the car.

They agreed to reimburse me for the trim which they never did. They then stopped returning my calls.

I complained them to my insurer at the time, The AA, who managed to get them to call me only to be told again they would pay for it but again they never did.

The AA are another crowd that won't be seeing the colour of my money either. All in all the worst pair of muppets I've ever encountered in my years driving.

I've had two chips repaired in the last month, and the results were very good although not quite perfect. Have it repaired, and if you're not happy you can push for a new screen.
