importing a van that was prevoisly reg in ireland.

    hello,
    i bought a van recently and was told that it was already reg in Ireland before it was imported into the north.

    so i thought it would be no problem and going to the local tax office and getting the old reg back but i was told to go to the nct center to get but low and behold they don't deal with that its only for new imports. so back down to the tax office and still there telling me that the nct deal with all that.

    now i am getting very annoyed with them so i rang the central reg office and they were no better. so rang dp of transport and wont give me the reg over the phone. so what can i do. dose any one no how i would go about getting the old reg back.
