Moving Home and Want to Use Sky in Bedroom

Hoping you can help here people.

Basically I have my own Sky+ (HD Box) package in my own rented home, but will be moving home in the coming weeks for a period of time. I will likely cancel my own subscription.

My parents also have a Sky package but it is a cheaper package (i.e. no Sky Sports and it is an old Sky+ Box)

I will be looking to have Sky in my own room but I'm wondering whether the current way the dish is set up will cause any problems.

So basically, long story short, here's the situation:
Sitting Room - Sky+ Box linked to Sky dish just outside the front window Parents Bedroom - Free to Air box also linked to the same Sky dish leaving one port free (so two for Sky dish and one for Free to Air) My bedroom - Free to Air set up to another dish at the back of the house. This is not a Sky dish and I am not sure if it has any ports free or whether Sky can run from it (unlikely)

Whats the best way to go about setting it up? And how can I get the sports package in my bedroom? Will it effect all packages in the house?

I have no problem paying for multi-room but wonder will Sky have a problem with the Free to Air box in the parents bedroom running off the same dish.

Does anyone have any ideas on price?

    Many thanks in advance.

I assume the dish connection to your bedroom is picking up the free UK channels from 28 degs east, the same position Sky uses? If so just connect your existing SkyHD+ box to the incoming cable. If you want to watch and record at the same time you'll have to run a second cable from the dish to your Sky box. That way you keep Sky Sports and doesn't affect you parent subscription.

I assume for you to get Sky Sports as part of multiroom your parents will have to upgrade their sub to include Sky Sports.

Sky won't have a problem with your parent's FTA receiver connection to the Sky dish.

    Cheer mate.

Yeah, I'm nearly sure the dish is the same way. Can you use this dish as a Sky receiver yeah? I thought maybe something had to be upgraded on it say.

It would handy if I could do that because if in a couple of months time I want to move out again, I can take the box with me again and won't affect the rest of the household.

Thanks for the help, will give it a try.

Any working satellite dish pointing at 28 degs east can be connected to the Sky receiver.
