DCU. A party college?

Recently a work colleague asked me where I went to college and when I said I was a DCU graduate he kind of scoffed and said it was only a party college! Would anyone agree? I mean when I was there I knew how to party and was involved in all kinda of societies etc but I also worked hard. I get the Trinity and UCD have been around a lot longer and have the kind of old school vibe of it but with the likes of the Trinity Ball and the UCD Ball in the O2 they are just as much the partier. Anyone any comments?

Should have told him to go an sh1te...

Where ever you went, your degree should be recognised in the same light as anyone else's, IMO

I think that's rubbish. Students party no matter where they go to college. The vast majority of people that I've come across here care about getting a good degree and are hard workers.

You sure he wasn't just trying to rile you with a bit of banter?

I have been in DCU 10 years and have never heard of it, nor would regard it as being a 'party college'...

DCU is definitely not known for its social life. I consider it very tame compared to the others, going on what I've heard and experienced!

DCU is much less of a 'party' college than the others in Dublin. Mainly due to the fact, as someone pointed out, that there isn't the same contingent of arts students who have only 2 hours of lectures a week.
