Im wanting to install saorview and the free uk channels in my house. I have only had an indoor antenna previous to this working a saorview top box which decided to give up the ghost at the weekend.
I was looking at this kit.
    http://www.tvtrade.ie/combo-digital-satellite-tv-kit.html

Is it good value? Watch out for the price including vat!
Or would I be better off buying a receiver and dish separately? I dont need the outdoor antenna as the indoor works fine plus I have the hdmi cable from the previous box.

I want to keep the costs down as much as possible.
    Thanks

Should work ok, as long as you don't expect a 7 day epg for the satellite channels, and you can install the dish.

You are best off looking on donedeal or adverts for a second hand sky box and dish, and a saorview box too.. (sky box gives you all uk free to air channels... bbc's, itv's, c4, e4.....etc)

    Sky box €15
    Dish €20
    Sview €20

Thats a big saving.. we have our saorview working on a small ariel at the back of our downstairs tv and its perfect.

Cheers folks. I would rather new boxes rather than second hand stuff and one box would be preferable.

I wouldn't be worried about a program guide. Is there any other boxes worth looking at?

Walker WP645TS-HD, looking very good now with a recent software update - http://www.tvtrade.ie/blog/walker-wp645ts-hd-how-to-install-firmware-v3-8-satfree-from-usb-drive/

Saorview approved, 7 day guide for both Saorview and satfree (aka Freesat), MHEG-5 digital text.

    I posted this earlier - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=84296402&postcount=8
