I have a KWA MP9, fires perfectly despite not having any nozzle return springs.

Check my thread if you're interested:

I'd love the mp9 but Im just a bit unsure because of the issue with the nozzle return springs. can they be replaced ? or are the mounts for them gone ?

Yeah the mounts for them are gone. But as I said it functions 100%, I can provide video if you wish.

looks gorgeous mate , just kinda put off by the missing nozzle return springs. is it the nozzle itself that is damaged ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 722 ✭✭✭General Grobel

No, the nozzle itself is fine. The bolt usually has two posts where the nozzle springs attach to, these are missing or broken off. How this happened I do not know, I got it second hand. But as I have said, it functions regardless. The only issue I can imagine if there is a lot of cool down it would fail to feed, cool down you'd only experience on your 2nd fill of the mag (if you've been using a lot of FA) or 3rd. I don't see anyone filling a gas mag with BBs in the middle of a game, I refill the mag with gas at the safe zone so it simply doesn't come into play. Again, I can do a video of it firing, or you could test it yourself if we meet up at, say, Hilltop next weekend.

can I see a pic of the damaged part please ?

I'm not sure how I'd go about that. I'd have to take the entire gun apart to get at the BCG, then take that apart. On the inside of the bolt there would be two posts where a spring would hook onto either one. These metal posts are gone, very cleanly in fact, almost as if they were deliberately sanded off. Sorry if I'm not clear enough, but I'd really rather not take it apart. Anyway, the springs on new KWA MP9s usually fall off the posts and jam the whole thing, so you're pretty much better off.

thats fair enough, just one more question when you say you modified the mag what do you mean ? and can I have pics of the the modification

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 722 ✭✭✭General Grobel

I was just taking a picture of it there with follower locked at the bottom of the mag, I accidently let it slam back up and the little bit of metal that locks the bolt when empty snapped off...just my bloody luck :(

So sorry about that. If you want to back out I totally understand. If not, I can offer 50e with it so you can buy an additional mag that will lock the bolt. The mag that comes with it still works, but it will keep firing when you're out of BBs like an AEG. You can buy a new follower from KWA directly for it.

    Again, my apologies.

the mag still functions other than locking back ? and if you give me 60 cash with the mp9 for a new mag inc postage i'd be happy to trade still. http://www.airsofteire.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=1037&category_id=17&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26
