Came across this deal and seems pretty good value. Have been meaning to get a will drafted for a while. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Just make sure the solicitor does not become the executor of the will!!!

As a total beginner at this lark why do you recommend this? I thought that might actually be a good idea! Interested because we want to make a will in the near future.- really should have been done yesterday!

Cause it's a legal document. A simply mistake can make it invalid or worse someone gets more than you wanted them to get.

Eh, anyone can write their will by following the instructions on the taxpayer funded portal. There is no need to get a legal professional involved unless you wish.
A solicitor can easily make a mistake, deliberate or otherwise.

Based on personal experience solicitors will drag it out as long as possible and hit you with fees for everything.

FYI: Easons in O'Connell St sell "will packs", which is basically a blank form to fill out. Can't remember how much they were, but inexpensive, maybe €4 or so.
