Overheard the lads in Staggs saying they have 350 second hand bikes in their lock-up (this was on Saturday).

What I did last year was ring around and ask the shops in my area what road bikes they had available and price. Ended up getting myself a lovely 2011 Trek 1.1 in McCormacks on Dorset St. for 400. Knocked 50 off when I threw in an old MTB against it. Only prob with used bikes is that you will probably have to update parts sooner rather than later. Had to fork out for new block and chain and now for two new wheels (Campag Khamsin rebranded as Most Wildcats F3). But got a year out of it and got a roadbike under my ass where I wouldn't have affored a new one.

Btw got the wheels in HarrysBikes.ie out in Clonskeagh, very friendly bike shop defo recommend.
