Cycling Holiday in Holland

Myself and my girlfriend are looking at going on a cycling holiday in holland around August/September. Ideally, we would like some sort of package that will have everything sorted for us, eg Bike hire, luggage transport etc. We are chosing holland as my girlfriend hasnt been on a bike in a few years, so we would be hoping for a mainly flat cycle.

Just looking for advice on what sort of packages are available, what the weather is like that time of year and anything we should be looking out for

    thanks

The weather will be lovely, it's hot in August and still very warm in September. There's plenty of companies that do bike tours if you google about a bit.

It's quite a small country as well as being flat so you'll be able to cover quite a bit of ground. Bear in mind the north east of the country is mostly farmland so you can skip that entirely. You should pick out places you really want to go and base your holiday around them. I haven't been there yet, despite living here for a couple of years, but Delft and the surrounding areas look amazing.

Did a short trip last Autumn in the South east of the country and the weather was decent.. But its the north of Europe so bring a jacket :) Can't help you on a tour operator but a quick google throws up lots of options. Have a look at
http://www.openstreetmap.org/ there is a layer for cycle maps. http://www.fietsersbond.nl/english-info is a great site for planning trips. There is also some good blogs about touring in Holland http://www.cycletourer.co.uk/cycletouring/holland.shtml

Camping is very popular in Holland, thus camp sites are well fitted out. I would suggest renting a touring bike with Panniers and head off exploring .. The planning is half the fun :)

    Have a great trip ..
