I'm looking to buy a good bike computer (not full garmin) , Just want it to measure cadence really to help me keep a smoother pace and not be so up and down. any advice? Don't want to be paying mass money. I already wasted money on the aldi one which is now in the bin. I just want a good functional one to give me cadence and time really

I had a Cateye Strada (wired) €38 from Ribble
Upgraded to a Cateye Double Wireless €72 from Ribble when I got a new bike.
Both were good, although the wireless lost my top speed coming down off the Galibier which i never forgave it! Got a good deal last year on a Garmin 500 so using that now with cadence.

I have that exact one, its cheap and does the job grand. The only complaints is have is the wires are a bit untidy (for the price though you can't argue too much) and the 'one button' operation is a bit fiddly

I have been using this for the past few months and it's great and it was the cheapest out there. I have a garmin 500.

My advice - hold off and save for a Garmin. Sounds like your hooked, so if you get the cadence sensor, you'll then want to know speed, route, HR, HR zone, total distance etc as well.

You should be able to get the 500 at a decent price now the 510 is out. It'll come down more over the next few weeks. You might even got one second hand.
