Yesterday we got back an assignment that we sibmitted two weeks ago.

Before we handed it in, my friend asked me to print his as his printer wasn't working. Before I printed it, I looked over it and in addition to noticing that his format was better than mine, I saw that he had misread one of the sections and missed a point completely.

I copied his format and improved on it a bit but kept his mistake to myself and just handed over the printed copy without saying anything.

When we got them back, I had done an awful lot better than he did.

I feel really guilty now. My good work is actually his but he has got no credit for it what-so-ever.

I tempted to come clean and be honest but I know it wont acheive anything. Should I just keep silent?

That was a very low thing to do alright but no point getting kicked out of college for it. Say nothing and just don't do it again.

I'd say keep quiet just because there's nothing to be achieved really. He was going to hand up his work that way regardless so he got the mark he deserved.

You don't deserve the mark you got, so you should feel bad about that. To be honest, I think that's a really crappy way to act. I know you say you feel guilty, but I'd have a good look at yourself and really think about why you did it.

pretty ****ty not to inform him of his mistake. Him correcting it was hardly going to change your grade.

OP copied his work, fixed the mistake and then handed the 'corrected' work in as their own.

I wouldn't say anything though to either your friend or the college but I would have a look at your own honesty and your ethics.
