Motorised valves - yes or no?

    I live in a 1970s split-level house. The garage is the basement and contains the oil boiler. The living room and hall are directly above this. The rest of the house is on a level five steps up from the hall.

    The central heating controls consist of a boiler stat and a room stat in the living room which switches the boiler and pump together. That's it. The radiators and hot water cylinder are all on one circuit.

    My question - would there be a reasonable (or any) ROI in installing motorised valves and whatever piping is necessary to separate heating from hot water and maybe separating the heating into two zones?

    Depends on how much ripping up and digging you need to do to split into matched circuits , and on your lifestyle/living habits.... (if you zone the house and then heat all the rooms in house at the same time,all the time then no difference, ) might get a better return on better draft proofing/insulation,a better heating controller/clock, a digital room stat, thermostatic rad valves or a condensing boiler.... All depends...
