 Only about a year old!

Anyone got any ideas for a DIY repair, any glues good for this? Or is it a visit to a cobblers for a new sole?

Get a cobblers opinion. But getting a year out if shoes isn't bad if you wore then a lot.

'Shoe goo' is made for this kind of thing (found on ebay, maybe elsewhere). Clean up the sole, put a layer of glue on, into the cracks and so forth, let it dry overnight, sand or roughen it up and put down a second layer. Repeat until you are happy. You will get a bit more wear out of them ...

I've a few pairs of shoes with perfect leather uppers but ruined soles (ECCO). The cobblers have all said there is nothing they can do with them, not made to be repaired.

just a bump for this, I went on amazon to have a look and found Freesole, bought a tube for about a tenner delivered, easy to apply and while it still early days so far so good. Solid but flexible filler material.

Well the shoe sole is still repaired! I guess its question of how long it lasts, how long do you want to hold off? :)
