Anyone out there using a Pentacon Six? I have an issue.

Bought a nice Pentacon Six second hand, works fine, pics turn out well.

My only issue is that I can't get it to work with a cable release. It's as if the pin isn't hitting anything, it simply won't fire. It's not the shutter release lock, I'm wondering if I need to get an unusually long-pinned cable release?

    Any ideas appreciated.

I've never heard of pentacon 6 specific cable releases or anything, maybe your one has an unusually short throw or something ? OTOH could be that it's just broken...
APUG or photo.net are probably the places to go for answers. If there's a known issue with the camera chances are someone there has encountered it.

Figured it out. I had a long-throw cable release to use with an adapter for my Yashicamat (http://goo.gl/gM0ZG) - been a while since I used it, forgot it was that long.

For some reason, the Pentacon needs a longer-than-normal pin, so I have it sorted - shutter release.

Thanks for the response, Daire. Looking forward to getting it on the tripod and doing some nice portraits.
