Have you got a back garden? It is possible to buy a ground mount for a dish or you could place a pole in a hole filled with gravel and concrete, or put it on a wall perhaps? Is your dish on the front of a house or on a balcony?

Where are you getting the information about what these feeds are actually carrying?

@FREETV, is there any chance you could not go off-topic in practically every thread you post in? Do you even know what these feeds are that the OP is asking about?

yes but i am renting and cant be arsed, miss 39.0E and 23.5e but have rarely used anything other than that. Wound need a monster of a ground mount for a 1.2m dish and motor...

I do a blind scan but cant see anything in my channel list. Is there somewhere i need to input the freq's etc to view?

There will be an option for a tp scan somewhere. Don't know a whole lot about Linux receivers tbh.

You have already found the Sat DXers website.

You must bear in mind that many of those guys are using large dishes and an Azbox which are the only receiver that I know that does 4:2:2.

You occasionally get some links for Sky live programming on 10e. 1w is also used a lot for links.

Blind scan scans the whole satellite. You can manually scan a TP on the Vu+.

STB, is as usual is spot on in this regard.
If you don't have an AzBox or other 4:2:2 capable receiver you will need to pass the the stream from your receiver to your PC for decoding via VLC or similar software.
The Vu+ and other Linux boxes don't decode 4:2:2 put can pass the stream to other systems that can.

Cheers for the replies, pretty much the info i was looking for. Is that just a stream via the web interface? Have you come accross any walkthroughs or instructions on how to do that? Im a complete noob when it comes to feeds

Not all the feeds are listed as 4:2:2.

This is where I started when I was starting out.
Some great resources there and on other sites.
If you knock around google with 4:2:2, vlc, enigma2, linux and feeds you will come across what you are looking for easily enough.
Go through the Tutorials and if you have any probs drop back here and ask.
I'm sure someone here will know what to do ;)

True, some are 4:2:0 but if feed hunting is what you are after, knowing how to handle 4:2:2 is important as that is how the majority are encoded.

Great stuff all! Will have a play with that stuff at the end of this week!

I have just watched the hurling on this feed on 1 West. It's in 4:2:2 as are nearly all RTE and TG4 feeds so I use the AzBox. The picture is much sharper on the feed than on TG4 terrestrial.

    Frequency: 11503 - Pol: V - SR: 14400 - FEC: -

    Category: Sport - Autres

    Transmitted in: MPEG-4

    Comments: GAA(Gaelic football)/Hurling(s2,hdtv)

I never do any feed hunting, I just tune in the ones I am interested in which are posted on Satelliweb. There is plenty if you are interested in GAA including Engish commentary feeds of games on TG4, live feeds of games with deferred broadcast coverage and FTA feeds of games on Setanta.

If your are interested in soccer it is very very unusual to find FTA feeds of English Premiership games. And indeed nearly all high profile games from around Europe are encrypted. Look out for Crypte, Enc or Encrypted on the Satelliweb posts, there is no point in trying to receive those.

    That's my tutorial hehe :D:D

I used love the feeds myself!

Always brilliant around International Soccer time! 10 East is always bulging with free international soccer english language streams of different games which are now on my JSC card :P

0.8 West as pointed out is also good for the GAA!

22W and 10East I used to use for Speedway and PDC Darts!

Used love satelliweb but ain't been have time to mess about with it for ages now.

The GAA feeds are on 23.5 East today, both fairly strong with me.

This one channel name RTE Croke Park with English commentary:

    Frequency: 11477 - Pol: V - SR: 4800 - FEC: -

    Category: Sport - Autres

    Transmitted in: MPEG-2 4:2:0 (PAL)

    Comments: GAA(Gaelic football)/Hurling(s2),more

And this one GAA Beo for TG4 in Irish but is in 4:2:2:

    Frequency: 11465 - Pol: V - SR: 14400 - FEC: -

    Category: Sport - Autres

    Transmitted in: MPEG-4

    Comments: GAA(Gaelic football)/Hurling(s2,hdtv)
