Televising Irish matches

Cricket's big news these days, it's not a fringe sport like it used to be, it's growing brehs. So with that in mind what are the odds of Irish teams and big club games getting some TV attention?

I think it would have an audience to attractive some advertisers, plus it would have the added bonus of getting people into Irish club cricket, the best way to boost the game here.

It's going to happen at some stage if the game is going to continue to grow in Ireland, if we are a test nation in the future Irish domestic cricket will have to have some sort of TV presence.

    It's gotta happen brehs...

Odds so long it'd be hard to count them. Club games on TV? Not a snowballs chance in hell of that happening. There are bigger sports here that get little or no TV coverage. We've a better track record at boxing for example. We have won bags of medals in the amateur ranks and have some very highly rated and successful pros but they don't carry boxing on RTE anymore.

Also who do you think would tune in all day on a Saturday/Sunday to watch YMCA v The Hills? Viewing figures in the dozens there.

We're a million miles from any of this happening.

Ireland international ODIs usually get TV coverage.

There isnt a hope of domestic league cricket getting TV coverage in this country; not unless someone like Setanta decides to pick up the T20 or something, but thats very unlikely to happen.
