    Quick one.
Leaving full time job to start up new business. Have heard can claim JSA/JSB for a couple of months until business is up and running.
Sounds too good to be true.......anyone enlighten me?
    Thanks

I think most if not all of those schemes depend on you being out of work first.ie starting you own business to get off the social.

If you have an entitlement to Jobseeker's Benefit and have a viable self-employment business plan, you can qualify to have the remaining JSB period re-categorised as Short Term Enterprise Allowance (STEA)

    Pleas see : http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Short-Term-Enterprise-Allowance.aspx

You would be better off waiting after you leave the job. (might be disqualified from welfare for a period due to leaving the job voluntarily) Sign on for Jobseekers Benefit and as Pluto states you will then be legit and entitled to claim STEA.
