Anyone recommend a decent route/trail in this area ?
All i can think of the moment is the canal but i'm looking for something more geared towards a forest trail.
I'm guessing the best option is to put the bike in the car and head south

There is some great off road trails around the phoneix park, if you head down whites road and turn right when you come thru the gates into the park and follow the path around the outside wall down towards the furry glen

Its not exactly a real forest trail but an alternative when you dont have time to stick the bike in the car

A lap or two of the Phoenix park is a good stretch. In the Ashtown gate and left there's joggers trail that goes right around most of the park.

Otherwise it's Ticknock, Carrickgollogan, Ballinastoe etc.

    ^^^Snap.

Thanks, phoenix park sounds good. I just went for a cycle through the tolka valley park which was nice(didn't notice any signs that bikes were not allowed).
Got chased by a dog on the way home though which tested my legs a bit :D
