    Hi all,

Would love your advice in the middle of new build & need to make decision re windows was all set to go triple glazed but window co were out at wend, he suggested going with double glazed with wider vacuum, says it will give same u value of around 1.0 & energy index of 19.76, but 15% cheaper.
Don't intend to build passive house but have but a lot into insulation, heating system etc, don't want windows to let me down now.

    Thanks

It's all about the u value. I would suggest you ask another window provider is that statement true. If it is then sounds great.

I think he is talking about the U value of the glass, not the window

A Low 'E' Argon filled glass unit will have a value of 1.1

Check the value of the window, it should have been submitted to a test, but remember tests are done on a single size of window, that does not mean, every size will achieve the same result.
    Ask for the Cert.
