The wifi just turns off. And after I pick it up to use it again, I have to go into WiFi settings and manually tick the router in order for it to connect again. I've tried manually setting a static IP, and I've tried opening ports. They both never worked so now I'm completely stuck. It never done this before, and I haven't tampered with any router settings that would cause it to either.

So why is it doing it all of a sudden now? If it helps, I have the latest firmware and I have iOS 6 installed and I own the iPod Touch 4th Gen.

Would anyone know what's causing this?

    Thanks in advance.

Go to wifi settings and tap the blue arrow after the router name and tap forget this network. Tap other and type the name exactly as it was including any caps, go to security and select what type, probably wpa but you can log into the router and check. Then enter the pass key and tap join, it should stay connected now.

I don't know why it happens but just did one day when I had an iPhone 4 and the only thing that fixed was what I described above

I tried your hint but it never worked :( I done it 3 times to make sure I wasn't missing anything or doing anything wrong, but it just turned off and hasn't turned back on, manually connecting again. I'm not sure what else to do. Thanks for the help though it was well worth a go at this stage, been doing it for weeks now.
