Reporting illegal parking in Ireland?

Hi, I was wondering does anyone here know who to contact to report illegal parking in Ireland? Is it te Gardaí or is it up to traffic wardens to just happen upon the parking violators? I've seen the same fools park in the same stupid and dangerous places for the last year and I was considering reporting it for safety reasons.

Could I just ring my local Garda Station or is it more complicated than that?

Either Gardaí or Traffic Wardens would have the power to issue fines for illegal parking - if you alert the Gardaí - and they want to act on it - they might just swoop by some time issue tickets on all illegally parked with the idea that people will stopp parking there regularly - sounds like the area might be off the 'beat' of the local traffic warden.

Try ringing the local station and have them coming to take a look. It is the most reasonable course of action for the situation you are describing. Once the officers come over and see the problem with their eyes, usually the ball is in their field.

Be aware that, if you decide to go different routes such as snapping pictures, reporting registrations and so on, you will be asked to submit signed forms, personal details and possibly even appear in court should any of the cases go that route.
