    Hi guys,

Back again. I'm dual booting ubuntu 12.04 64 bit on a windows 7 laptop. I used the windows app for the install. I updated the computer yesterday and now linux will not boot.

I get the following errors :

you need to load the kernal first
    cant find oxx attribute list

I have grub options but I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm currently searching the forums but hoping you guys can also assist.

    Cheers

Looks like the grub config is broken. Grub troubleshooting

wit the live cd running I would just type, in a terminal, sudo grub-install /dev/XXX

where XXX = replace by sda if its your main hard drive.
it wont do any damage to anything else. Its only installing grub to the first part of the disk where the computer looks to see what OS's are available
