Just this evening after the RTE news I noticed that the sound is coming before the picture.

Switched it off and on still the same.

Retuned just now and it's still the same.

    Any solutions for me.

TV is Samsung LED that has a built in MPEG4 tuner.

    TIA

Noticed the same thing since last night, have 2 Xoro 9000+ combos and the sync problem can be observed on both ( am located in the southeast ) The sync is quite bad ( like at least 0.5 of a second if not more )
Reception on 'real' tv(s) is better ( although if you ask me I do notice a slight sync issue that wasn't there before ( on both tvs(s) a samsung and a lg both ( 'approved' ) )

Presumably something in the streams from the transmitter has changed and the boxes especially are not coping with it.

Where was this. As I have had numerous calls today from people in the south east (Mt leinster region) saying the same that they have sound and no picture today.

Ive been having the same problem today with sound very noticeably coming in before picture on my Philips TV with MPEG4 tuner, switched it off and on again, updated channels but still the same, thankfully I rarely watch anything on it, so not too bothered. Also in South East.

I experienced this aswell on the 19th but only on my Sony W series tv both on mt Leinster and Arklow.
There was picture and sound on kippure as normal which meant it was a peculiar problem.
The problem only affected the older sony w series mpeg 4 tv.
My sony ex series tv was unaffected and neither was a triax saorview approved combi box I have, though it has ongoing sound sync problems

The mt leinster/arklow picture problem (and presumably all of mt leinsters fed tx's) rectified itself the next day and is back to normal now.
I can only guess that some transmission parameter or other was changed, that older mpeg 4 tv's did not like.
I should imagine RTE would have been getting quite a few calls on the matter perhaps prompting the quick fix.

It did knock out reception for what must be 100's of older mpeg 4 tv's in circulation though and therefore isn't something RTE would want to be doing often, were it an issue that arose out of a test.
It could just as easily have been a fault though or some parameter that was unintentionally changed for some reason or other.
Iirc there was another thread here a few weeks ago with a similar issue in a different part of the country.
