Latest report from the AA! Broken down by county.....
    (AA website 15th April)

“Young women aged 17 to 24 living in Co Laois are more likely to cause a flat battery, by leaving their car lights on”

“When it comes to fuel problems though, men are worse. They are more likely to run out of fuel or put the wrong juice into the tank”

“it’s the Cavan motorist who is most likely to bleed the tank dry”

“motorists in Co Offaly were deemed to be more likely to pick up the wrong nozzle at the pump”

“Putting the wrong fuel into your car is becoming more and more common” explains Conor Faughnan, Director of Policy at AA Ireland. “Irish motorists aren’t used to diesel operated cars, “ (LOL)

“The survey showed that when it comes to locking things in cars, women are best”

“Dublin motorists seem to have the worst luck, as 11.6% of Dubs damaged their car in the last year. Motorists in Counties Wicklow (11.4%), Kerry (11.4%) and Clare (11.1%). Again, this is an area where youth prevails as 17 to 24 year olds were most likely to cause damage to their car. Motorists in Counties Leitrim, Offaly and Carlow and those aged between 45 and 55 were shown to be the most careful with their vehicles”

Are we being slapped on the hand by the AA for being human and
    fallible ?

Conor Faughnan and the AA can go sh1te, their surveys/advice hold no more weight than the SIMI's drivel in this posters books.

To paraphrase him from 'the last word' a few years ago:

"Tyres are tyres, the brands are a matter of choice and unimportant, just make sure to have legal thread"

What sort of an idiot would think that something that tyres that cost 50 quid will be as good as one that costs 100.

I changed the car about a year ago. Car came with four new tyres a hankook a nexen a bridgestone and a goodyear. Dont ask why they were all different. The bridgestone and the goodyear were on the back and the goodyear wore out about 5000 miles before the bridgestone. The nexen lasted half the time of the hankook.

I am no car expert and am only in my 20's but my seven years of driving and replacing parts on cars has told me that cost matters. Idiots like this with no common sense shouldnt be left on the radio.

So he's saying Cavan people are mean, and Offaly people are thick? Where's the news? ;-)
