Who was the Wrestler that you idolized first eg grew up with, had t shirts/posters off.the 80's had hogan, the 90's had Hart/Stone Cold , the 00's has Cena.

Mine was Stone Cold Steve Austin. face or heel i idolized him. He was the first superstar i played season mode with in all the playstation games. I started watching in 1997 (too young to remember before that) so i was too late for Hogan and Bret Hart.

    Whos yours ??

Jeff Hardy and then The Rock for me.

Could never stand Austin, hated him with a passion hence my fondness of The Rock.

Ultimate Warrior, he was just so damn cool and crazy! Never had a clue what he was on about in promo's, in fact I still don't!

Bret Hart and Kevin 'Diesel' Nash are the two guys I remember really cheering for each week back in the mid 90's.

Owen Hart, Mick Foley, Shane McMahon, I also had a laugh at Al Snow and Head, fun times.
Loved Vince as Mr McMahon, the corporate ministry too.

Jake The Snake Roberts for me.
He was never a hugely built guy, his matches weren't athletic showcases, but that didn't matter. In an era of cartoon good guys with bright multicoloured spandex and promos that consisted of screaming into the camera about maniacs and warriors it was a soft spoken, icey cold, snake carrying guy billed from Stone Mountain Georgia who fascinated me as a kid.
His theme tune was excellent, the way he carried himself, his walk, his performance in the ring, his ability to connect with an audience, its something that so many current superstars lack.
A fiercely intelligent guy with a natural aptitude for pro-wrestling, his drink and drug habit prevented him from ever being a top performer even though he was hugely over as both a heel and a face with the crowd, and was a "cool heel" long before Stone Cold ever arrived, even with his popularity he never held a title during his WWF run.
His personal battles with substance abuse have been long chronicled in wrestling media and he's now on the mend, I'd genuinely love to see him return in a creative or managerial capacity as he has so much to offer the current generation of young wrestlers if he manages to stay on the wagon, going by his updates on the DDPYoga program he's looking in better shape than he has been for years.

growing up was Diesel I thought the Jacknife Powerbomb was awesome remember I was pissed Undertaker kicked out of 3 of them at Wrestlemania and still won the match, was sad when he and Razor Ramon left & was super pumped when JR said they were back & out came Isacc Yankem & Rick Boigner

Shawn Michaels, despite not watching wrestling until 2000. I used to always be pretty fascinated with the stars of the recent past when I was young (eg. Paul McGrath was my favourite footballer around the time of World Cup 98).

For me, it was always Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. 2 of the very best ring generals. Later,It was Taker and Kane. I loved Kanes debut story and how long it played out for before he actually appeared. Watching the first Hell in the Cell live before school, and Kane appearing for the first time will be my fondest wrestling memory. Spent the whole next day buzzing

Always Bret Hart. The man was a legend.

In the 80's when i started watching as a child, The Macho Man was my favourite, then it was on to Razor Ramon.

But all that changed when the ringmaster made his wwf debut , although a crap gimmick, his heel mannerisms made him look cool but then in june 96 at King of the Ring when the Texas Rattlesnake blasted jake roberts and as they say the rest is history, i Bought nearly every t-shirt he had, have all the vhs's (some probably dont know what vhs is now :D) and dvd's and cant wait to show the young lad that John Cena aint got nothing on Stoooone Cold Steeeeeeeve Austin :)

    Jake Roberts.

    Does anyone remember WrestleFest?

i always used to choose him and Perfect.

after Jake was Bret, then it switched seamlessly to Austin.

Toss up between The Rock and Kane. SCSA was out injured at the time I started watching. After a few months watching WWF, The Rock had his rivalry with the McMahon-Helmsley Faction/DX. Just thought The Rock was hilarious, but was also just really rooting for him to beat them. Backlash 2000 is still one of my favourite PPVs for his win over HHH.

And Kane, pretty much solely because of this:

I'd heard of Undertaker, HBK etc, but I'd never heard of Kane and when they showed that clip on Sunday Night Heat, I just thought it was the best thing ever.

Bret Hart and Mr. Perfect when I was a kid. While Hogane et al. were stumbling around the ring, these lads had the technical skill. Loved their mathes.

I was far more obsessed about the IC title than the WWF title.

I liked Big Daddy before WWF was on TV. When that came on TV I liked Warrior and Bret Hart. Hated Hogan for some reason.

I remember the first time I saw wrestling. Just flicking through the channels in the morning and landed on Sky 1. A huge, athletic guy was fighting a guy with a white shirt, a mask and scraggly hair with the winner being whoever could get the panties down from a pole and the loser would be fired (little did I know that I would be seeing many more pole matches during the Russo era). The Rock won, beating Mankind.

Later that night my grandmother was talking about his my brother's godfather calls him "Joe Lewis" and how Lewis was the greatest fighter ever and then my 7 year old self chimed in "no he isn't, The Rock is!" Ever since then I've been hooked to wrestling.

Ultimate Warrior, Hogan, LOD, Savage and Jake The Snake for me.

When I fist watched wrestling in the late 80s and early 90s I thought the Ultimate Warrior and the Macho Man were pretty cool, but my main man was Jake Roberts. In a similar way to watching Tom and Jerry or the Roadrunner - I'd laugh at the antics, but secretly I always wanted the bad guy to win as they always put in so much effort.

Then I was banned from watching wrestling for a while because I kept on trying to slam my siblings.

I started watching again in the McMahon-Helmsley era. The line between good guy and bad guy had become so blurred cheering for ultra-violent guys with massive egos and who spouted profanities had become the norm. My favourite was Kane - an unfeeling and unhinged monster - with Y2J running a close second. And as a grungy kid I of course loved the Hardy Boys.

Kane, which I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing now :pac: For WCW, it was Goldberg.

Wasn't it a pink slip on a pole match? :P

I first started getting into wrestling around 1990/1991. In the WWF, I was immediately drawn to Bret Hart. Only able to get my WWF fix once a week on Saturday mornings, I'd go to the video shop and rent old Wrestlemanias, Summerslams, Royal Rumbles and Survivor Series'. It was from those that I became in awe of Rick Rude, the only heel I liked. He was just as brilliant in WCW around 1992/1993.

Same, the IC title was the workhorse belt, it's a shame it lost all meaning in the past decade, as the IC bouts were usually the best matches on the card. Savage, Steamboat, Bret, Shawn, Mr Perfect, Austin, Rock, HHH all great IC champs.

Dudley boyz (who doesnt love two guys dumping people through tables?)
Hardys (particularly Matt. I have no idea why)
    Kane
    The Rock more than SCSA
    Chris Benoit
    Jericho
    RVD
    Sabu.

Shawn Michaels, the undertaker and Chris Jericho, I missed the whole attitude era , but the matches these guys have put on is stellar. I remember myself and the brother nearly waking the whole house when michaels came out of retirement to fight hhh. What a match. Jericho & benoit were incredible together too.

Haha loved that game though in reality all you did was randomly mash all the buttons at once. Spent the best part of my youth playing that in the arcade in Trample.

My original favourites were the Natural Disasters. Heroes.

Had 3, The Rockers, I nearly cried when HBK superkicked Jannety in the barbershop.
Loved Mr Perfect too with Macho Man a close 3rd.

HBK is still my all time favourite.

Edge and Jeff Hardy. I couldn't identify with the super heroes and bad asses cos I was a weird geeky kid, but Edge and Jeff showed up just as I was a teenager getting into alternative music and I latched right onto them.
