    Hi all,
Quick question on the back to education allowance.
While I know that someone doing a Level 8 undergrad can get the BTEa, what about someone who finishes a BA now, and starts a Hdip (level 8) in September? Can you continue the BTEA into a Hdip?

If its a Hdip in education then the answer is yes. Its the only post grad course covered by btea. Once you dont hold a higher qualification e.g. Masters, PHD.

Just Education? What's the difference between a Level 8 Hdips? Are they not all Level 8?

    Please see below from www.welfare.ie

"You can get the Back to Education Allowance for a postgraduate course of study that leads to a Higher Diploma (H.Dip.) qualification in any discipline or a Graduate Diploma in Education (primary and secondary teaching). Other types of postgraduate qualifications are not recognised for BTEA.
You will not get BTEA if you already have a postgraduate qualification."

Two other points to note : You must be over 24 and complete the course in a university within Ireland (North or South)
