Do you get a go in a truck too?

They did one on O'Connell St. last year and you could hop into the cab of the truck they parked there.

    A good idea.

certainly is. that way people can see just how blind to trucks they are when trying to go up the inside of them

    this illustrates it perfectly

Exactly. Now you know, to keep out of their way. They may not always be right, but they're always bigger than you!.

Jesus...I hope that's not in the middle of a Strava segment. That's potential KOMs being thwarted!

Naaahh! Just barrel on through. I'm sure the judge will be very understanding - he's probably chasing a few himself.

By jove, you've got it. That's exactly why they'd be setting up that sort of stop-go obstacle. The judiciary want all the KOMs for themselves!

or ... they are stopping you to raise awareness of the blind spots on trucks .... some cyclists think they are invincible when on the roads and make some seriously dangerous manoeuvres.

I think its a good thing as the amount of commuters (cycling and driving in cars/trucks/motorbikes) who do not know the rules of the road are increasing...we are getting more cyclists (former motorists) on the roads with the longer days and brighter evenings ...and many of these ex-motorists are not aware of how to behave as a cyclist....and the dangers cyclists face.

It's not just that with truck drivers, the demo of being in the cab shows you that it's not just that they aren't looking, it's that it's a actually impossible to see you if you position yourself wrongly and/or they don't have all the extra mirrors.

It helps you judge by looking ahead at their mirrors where the long blind spot is and surprisingly how far in front on the cab you have to be before they can see you.

You would wonder is there any possible helpful advice they could offer before everyone would just appreciate their efforts instead of moaning..
