How would taupe compare to this colour?? I was looking at a dulux colour chart and there were two taupe combinations I think, tempting taupe and warm taupe.
I'm looking for a colour for hall stairs and landing, white doors and skirting, cream tiles in hall and brown-combination striped carpet on stairs.
    Any help appreciated greatly

    Living room,
Have a look at pale mink & parisian cream, or if you were going to have a feature wall (papered or painted a deeper colour) have a look at the lighter natural harvest & creme brulee.
    Hall,
Have a look at Flaked almond and Almendra (see this one in one of their pictures, looks different than in colour chart).
Bedrooms, tempting taupe and perfectly natural both really nice neutrals or rich taupe if you wanted it a bit darker..
The lighter 2 would work better with a feature wall, rich taupe for the whole room..
Get a few tester pots and take your time choosing, but they'd all look well when the jobs finished.

    thanks for all your replies..

Any ideas of a good colour, not exactly white, for woodwork, that will match most colours?

For the woodwork, try dulux satinwood 'Country White'.

Ivory white, or nearly white, both similar to country white. Ivory white is lighter shade and nearly white slightly darker..
All will go with nearly all colours

I have a fairly dark North facing Sitting Room. I'm in the middle of painting it Pale Mink (Moda range) and I really like it. I've teamed it with Warm White satinwood on the woodwork. I have Warm White on most of my woodwork, it's a creamy shade of white. I put Abbeylands in a North facing Bedroom but it would be a bright room. I love that colour, it really suits the room. I'm thinking of putting it in my hall, which is Warm White for the past 5 years and needs a face lift. Mulberry Siilk looks nice as a grey option. It really all depends on what way your bedrooms are facing as to what paint you should use, it's amazing how the light in a room affects the shade the wall becomes. Dulux have a page for Warm Neutrals and Cool Neutrals, which is a good guide, choosing Warm colours for dark north facing rooms and Cool colours for bright rooms.
