Just curious is the engine of a RHD car fully compatible with a LHD car of the same model, could they be swapped with no modifications or would there be issues with installation because steering would be opposite side?

Looking at a sideline in exporting some old barges for engines/parts :D

It depends on the car. Certain LHD cars have important bits where the steering column would go on a RHD equivalent, although they'd be very much in the minority.
