Anyone ever have an airspace bust?

Have a read of the story below. Some unfortunate fella wandered into some of the busiest airspace in the world I would imagine, in his little Piper Cub. I'm pretty sure the CAA wouldn't have prosecuted if he had just called ATC to say he was lost.

It got me thinking, what would I do if I realised I had entered controlled airspace without clearance?!? Anybody here ever bust airspace? Did you notice it or did ATC notice you? What happens when you have a bust? A bollocking over the radio or loads of paperwork?

Pretty sure they would have prosecuted anyway because of the license issue

Thankfully I have never done it. But I have heard of a few stories of student pilots busting zones.
I heard about a student out of Weston who after busting Dublin's Zone simply turned his Transponder off flew back to Weston and f**Ked off home.
I heard another story of a student on a General flight test busting Baldonnells zone.

When you are a student and have no licence to lose there's not much they can do!

I overheard someone busting the Disney TRA in Orlando. A very cross lady controller basicly told him to fcuk off and change frequency!(she cancelled flight following).

He said he was dealing with a difficult situation and following his training: "aviate first, navigate second and communicate third." He disputed the prosecutor's claim that it was only "sheer luck" there had not been any collision.

Wow he really doesnt think he deserved the fine and that he was doing the right thing by not calling anyone...He could have at least made contact with the tower if he was that low and close to Stanstead...pretty poor airmanship imo. Fair enough you've got to fly and navigate first before you try and speak to someone but how long does it take to dial in a frequency and speak?

"That's misleading," he said. "That was never the case. It was a technical breach rather than a flagrant disregard for the regulations.

"I was clearly thrown by the velocity of the wind. I could see and avoid other traffic. I was deliberately at a relatively low level so below any commercial traffic.

"The infringements were completely inadvertent and once I became aware I attempted to avoid them."

After yesterday's (Wednesday, April 17) hearing, Marriott said he still had his licence and had not flown since although the ordeal had not put him off. "It was a frightening experience," he said. "That's why I deliberately didn't contact anyone. I was still trying to work out where I was and where I was going."

He said he thought the CAA decision to prosecute was "incredibly harsh" over something he described as "one navigation error".

That TRA is a joke. Disney say it is X radius. The FAA say it is Y radius. Kissimmee say it is Z radius. I heard a guy "cleared direct to the field" who refused the clearance as he would bust the Disney TRA.
