They have been in seen around Lough Ree and Elphin in Roscommon in the past, but I don't think there's anywhere they consistently show up in the midlands (yet at least)! Mountshannon in Clare is probably the closest place to the midlands you have a strong chance of seeing one at the moment!

Local birders reported a Sea Eagle at Lough Owel (near Mullingar - N4 road to Longford/Sligo) in 2012, no more recent sightings but always on the look out in these parts !

Yep! Thats WTSE Star. He travelled between Owel, ErneFermanagh and Wicklow regularly. The radar sightings on Golden Eagle trust are currently unavailable to check where he is. Kerry is the best place obviously.Around Derrynane is great. They're active around there whereas Killarney has more birds but I've never seen one there, This is STAR at Kilcoole, Co wicklow

I've never seen one - hopefully someday - but I did see today a Grey Heron in flight which has a huge wingspan. Would a WTSE have a bigger wingspan than that?

A WTSE was in Boora today apparently! according to the Irish Grey Partidge Conservation Trust's facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Irish-Grey-Partridge-Conservation-Trust/344880852160?ref=stream&hc_location=stream

Yea that's where i seen it i reported it;) i didn't want to say it for obvious reasons until it was verified:D that's why i wrote my intial post as i was unsure what i saw now but it was conformed what i have seen was indeed that:D

Thought it might've been you alright! Wouldn't blame you for second-guessing yourself when you saw it somewhere like that, as opposed to around Kerry/on the coast/on a big lake!

When did you see it there?

I heard it was there Wednesday, the Grey Partridge FB page makes it sound like it was there yesterday, and I heard from someone else that it was there last week.
