Mini - Clutch Fork cracked

    Howdy,

    Missus has her mini in with the mechanic. He rang and said it requires a new clutch fork as it is cracked. He has rang around UK, Germany and none available.. He’s waiting to hear from them tomorrow to see if they can manufacture one. He said the car is on his main ramp with gear box out etc so will need it back by the end of the week…

    Does this information sound correct? Are they that hard to locate or is it worth it to ring around myself

    Car is with bloomfield garage who specialise in minis

    Just getting a second opinion

    It's an 02 Cooper R50 with 60k miles

    maybe try dealers , they might will have new one, or try partfinder.ie , might will get used one.
    i have came across on vw golf mk3 .. my fathers one, had cracked fork. he was fabricating himself, ... obviously welding and strengthen it, but at the end it didnt work well, as those forks has pretty big stress , and welding wont hold that.
