Noisy Qashqai

Just bought a 2007 1.6 Qashqai and on a good surface it's grand however goign over speedbumps or potholes etc it seems that it's excessively noisy, it's almost like there is something loose in the boot (there isn't) because it generates a rumbling sound (not a rattle) . I've read on other forums that they have problems with the rear suspension, does this sound like this is a suspension problem?
I'm going to back to the dealer regardless.

Rear CV joints ? They are only rubber on most cars and will perish alot faster on some rather than others

yeah the bottom bush on the rear shocks give trouble on them. impossible to say if that's whats causing your problem but doesn't sound like a rumble would be caused by worn shock mounts. more of a knocking noise.

A well known rear shock fault that Nissan are aware of. Google it or check the Qashqai owners forum in the UK.

A common fault with Qashqais including mine is also the boot release knocking and rattling. There are a lot of solutions to be found online, but in my case it was to liberally grease both parts of the boot release, but especially the part in the boot lid itself and also to adjust the rubber stops in the boot lid. They look like they're not adjustable, but if you rotate them a bit (anticlockwise IIRC) they'll screw out a bit.

What's with all the Qashqai threads being resurrected?
