    Hi,

I have an RP2 with an AT2, and Large Brahms speakers. My Leak Delta 30Amp did not respond when I took the lot
out of the attic a few months ago after years of neglecting it due arrival of kids. I have looked longingly at your website and followed your threads for a long time.I would like to get an Amp or receiver. What can you recommend ? What sort of money are you talking about. I am in Dublin but can travel if needed.

    Hi Paulo,

Thanks for getting in touch and apologies about the delay in getting back to you.

First amp that jumps to mind is the Marantz PM6004.  This amp has been all over review websites and magazines getting pretty much 5 stars everywhere.  Unreal sounding amp and would work very well with your Rega.  It also has a phono stage built in so plug and play for any turntables without one.  Our current price on the Marantz is £259.95.  Check the link below for more info:

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/amplifiers-receivers/marantz/pm6004/mara-pm6004-blk

Delivery on the above and any amp that can be shipped is £12.99 for a next working day service.

Let me know what you think.

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

Your website price is £229 for PM6004. I thought it would be the same or cheaper on boards.ie

    kind regards
    Paul

    Hi Paulo2304.

Seems as though our .ie site has not been updated to the new price of £259.95.

However we will match the £229.95 as stated on our .ie site if you wish to purchase the amp today.

The price will be corrected to the same as our .co.uk site this morning

Let me know what you think.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............

If your speakers are rare Brahms I'm not convinced that the PM6004 will get the best out of them (saying that the 604 is leagues better able to drive speakers than your original Leak amp) - my choice would be to go for either the Rega Brio at £499 or better still the Roksan K2 at £749 - http://www.richersounds.com/product/amplifiers-receivers/roksan/kandy-k2-amp/roks-k2-amp-blk

I know that these are a good step more expensive than the PM6004 but those Brahms need driving! and if you are interested I'll PM you a Boardie deal,

Thanks and keep us posted if we can assist in any way,

Thanks for both replies. The Brahms each have 2 woofers and 2 tweeters and are about 3 foot tall(sentimental value and would prefer to keep).I do want something to get the best out of them but those prices are out of my league...especially when converted to yoyo's. Do you think I would regret getting the PM6004?Are there any alternatives or trade-ins that would be a runner?
    kind regards
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Sounds like a beast of a speaker alright.  I'd say the 6004 is the minimum I would go.  Much more power in the Rega and Roksan so no doubt they would run your speakers better.  6004 should still do a good job though :)

    Hi Chris,

Does the £229.95 price still stand for PM6004? I see the website has been changed to £259.

    Hi Paulo2304.

If you drop us your contact number in a PM we will call you or you can give us a buzz on 0044 333 900 0071 and we can get your details.

We can chat over speaker cable which starts from 99p upwards.

    Delivery would cost £12.99
