New Entry to Farming

    Hi to all ye farming experts.

    I'm soon to recieve my first herd number after taking back land that was rented out for years (27 Acres) and i've no green cert and i'm 31. My question is will i be recieve anything under the new CAP poilcy that everyone on about??? this farming is complicated i'll get ye to explain the mart madness to me when i get over this question!!!

    none at the min as u are new to farming , you probaly get area aid and maybe join the aeos ( reps) if it still open , the farmer that had your land rented recives the entilements as he was the one that set them up in the reference years

    First question you must ask yourself are you interested in farming or is it the entitlements your after and what is your current situation I.e. employed or unemployed. And what type of farming are you looking at doing

    You should join Teagasc. Listen to all their advice but use your own head and only do what definately suits you. Every farmer is different and every situation is different but they can give good advice. Also, join a discussion group.
