Bicycle on the train

I'll be travelling to Tralee on May 3rd and intend to bring my bike with me. I know that the ICRs have dedicated bike spaces so the Mallow to Tralee leg should be fine, but in the Mark 4s you have to leave the bike in the storage area of the DVT.

This begs the question: when I get to Mallow, how will I get it out? Having never done it before, I just want to know what to expect.

    Ask the train host.
I have gotten one out of the van on my tod a good long time ago, I think there was a push button on the inside to open the DVT door.

When you get off, go up to the despatcher on Mallow platform (that's the person on the platform with the flags) and let them know you have a bike to take out of the van. They will assist you from there and the train won't be sent off until you are sorted.
