    Hi,

Just looking for a bit of guidance, I've applied as a mature student for this Sept. I went too college for a year when I was 18 but didn't like the course I was doing, so I dropped out. I Paid my own tuition fees back then. So I have been working full time for the last 5 years but recently I have moved down to part time due to a lack of work these days. I currently rent but I'll have to move home if I go in to full time study. Would I be entitled to anything when I apply? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

There is information on www.citizensinformation.ie about grants. There is what is termed, I think, a "second chance student" being someone in your circumstances who did not complete a previous course and, after at least 5 years, is trying again. As regards the means test, the limit for 2012/13 was€41,110 and if your income for the previous year was less than that you would probably qualify for some level of grant.

Sorry I cannot give more information but I imagine the above website will help. Best of luck with the study.
