Engineer's report

Hi, the completely uninitiated looking for help.

I was rear-ended a couple of weeks ago, and my car is in the garage getting repaired. However, my insurance company (123/RSA) won't reinsure the car until an engineer's report is supplied to them stating that the car is roadworthy. However, the garage which my car is with (a highly reputable dealer/service centre in Galway city) states that they don't provide this? What can I do/should I do?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a lot

From the Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors website (http://www.iaea-online.org), your closest Assessor is:

    Mr S Grealish
Seamus Grealish Motor Assessor & Co

    Address

    Carheenlea

    Turloughmore
    County Galway, IRELAND work

    Phone: 091 737719work

    Mobile: 087 8336932cell

    Email: seamusgrealish@iol.ie

Worth contacting him to see if he does what you need, and the cost.

Had to appoint an assessor myself recently due to a valuation dispute. Did it through a friend of a friend, but he was a member of IAEA and the insurance company settled on his valuation.

Can I ask, Conovski, how did it go with Seamus?

(I understand it was a few years ago and you might not (a) remember details, or (b) see this thread!)
It'd be very helpful to me.
I've been quoted €150 to have a look at a car I'm interested in buying (a car worth in the region of €5000) in that part of Galway and would be interested if you'd give thumbs up, thumbs down, or thumbs across.
    Thanks!

Conovski has only posted 23 times in 8 years so he/she might not be on here that much, you might be better off PMing the OP.
