I was lucky that I have a cousin studying some design course in CIT, and he created a logo for me for relatively cheap.

More recently I was creating a Website for a friend with 0 budget, so I created a logo myself I ended up having to make my own with an image from http://openclipart.org/ and some text. I used Paint.NET to make it. It looks ok.

I could not find a free logo creator site. They all wanted money before they let me download the final image

If your looking for a decent logo that nobody else has then your going to have to pay id say. Free logos are used over and over.

Is this a logo for your/a business?

If so, I'd highly suggest you pay someone. 100 quid will get you a logo these days that should be infinitely better than any free logo you'll get.

So will $5, $10, or 'free publicity'. €100 is very very cheap for a professionally made logo.

Whatever then, a million euro will get you a logo.

My point was to get it done professionally. 100 was just an arbitrary figure for illustrative purposes.

That's grand, but I think if someone posted an equally low figure relating to the price of a website, then there'd be a swarm of negative responses to it. Just trying to give an accurate picture for the OP. €100 is roughly 2 hours work for design rates. I'd hope that a designer would spend a bit more time on a project than that.

If you just need a quick logo and aren't too pushed on how bespoke it is, try something like 99designs.com or fiverr.com. I feel dirty just mentioning either :(
