Could be an aircraft testing the ILS systems at the local airports, could be a number of things really. Also, i would not trust the app 100% :P its an app..not a radar :p

She did Shannon yesterday and went on to Kerry airport. It was a king air doing calibration. Incidently, does anyone know what aircraft was using the call sign Rescue 11 at around 2.00 - 2.30 yesterday? Was definitely Rescue 11, heard it about 6 times as she was taxiing and then cleared for take off. Was not any of the CG helos, who's call signs I'm familiar with.

Rescue 11 is the call sign of one of the airport patrol vehicles. New procedure in shannon means they now switch to the tower frequency when going onto the runway, such as for a patrol.

    Ladies and Gentlemen, Rescue 11
    Rescue-13.jpg

Maybe it works like the president? Any aircraft that has this appliance on board takes the call sign, 'Rescue 11'

    This too shall pass.

Fire services at the airport have a call sign of Rescue 1 to 22 or Ambulance 1

I take it then that Rescue 1 has the unenviable task of clearing the birds.

    This too shall pass.

Most modern aviation crash tenders are of that size

Here's a sloppy photo of the side of Rescue 9 at the don.
