    What the hell?

Says one of them stabbed two Guards in the last month..how are they not in jail/prison already?

I think/hope that is a misprint, it said in another paper it was an assault on the two Garda on Abbey Street.

    Hopefully so.

Surely these lads will get a couple of years at least?

A man in his 20s was arrested in Dublin this afternoon in connection with a series of attacks in Dublin city centre in which two men were stabbed and a woman was assaulted.

Earlier, a 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the attacks.

A 31-year-old man was found with stab wounds on Grafton Street at 1am which took place close to Burger King and Foot Locker.

He was taken to St James's Hospital.

Gardaí were then called to another incident on Chatham Row in which a 35-year-old man was stabbed and a 22-year-old woman was assaulted.

The man received stab injuries to his back and side and the woman received minor injuries.

They are also being treated at St James's Hospital.

The two men arrested are being held at Pearse Street Garda Station.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Pearse Street Garda Station 01 666 9000.

Well....it appears that at least one of the suspects has already tried Prison (Irish Style),but experienced difficulties with it's facilities and staff, which the Minister for Justice is currently attempting to address in the hope of improving the Penal Experience for the gentleman concerned.....

There is a thread on AH,which attempts to follow developments...as well as some more general "social" issues...;)

You can make your own mind up as to which "Issues" you feel should be of greater importance....:(

One thing is for sure here, and it is the duration and clarity of the warnings given by various Gardai and Prison Service staff in relation to this individual.

He is,after all, only the latest in a succession of recidivist criminals, whose court appearances ramp-up in severity.

In these cases,it is usually the Investigating Gardai and those involved in detaining the individual who can form the clearest and most accurate overall picture of those detained.

That clarity, accurate as it may be,is usually the first element to be discarded and disregarded when the many and varied "Support Services" then become involved.

In this particular case,we can see the process already in train as Defence Counsel makes some issue over urine analysis at an early stage.

    And so,it starts yet again....:o
